Trekking and cycling in Tuscany

Tuscany is the perfect place for those who love cycling and trekking at any level and for those who just want to enjoy a slow ride in this beautiful region. You can choose different itineraries for your adventures on foot or bike. In each place you will find new paths full of interesting places and breath-taking views. All the hills of this area are a good challenge both for the runner or for the cyclist to deal with the same ups and downs where legends like Gino Bartali, Mario Cipollini and Paolo Bettini used to work out.

Tuscany is a land of cyclists and wherever you chose to go, you will always find many other bike lovers who share the same passion.

The best months to practice this passion in Tuscany are March-June and September-October. July and August are way to hot and the sport activity is only recommended early in the morning or late in the afternoon or, just for the mountain bike, during the night. The rest of the year can be too rainy or cold and in winter the mountain passes are to be avoided. But, to be honest, the real cyclist will always appreciate Tuscany, in each month of the year.

We suggest you to download the App “Val d’Orcia Outdoor” ideal for excursions and adventure lovers, otherwise to visit the website http://maps.parcodellavaldorcia.com/it, where you can find every type of itinerary!

Monte Amiata, situated 25 minutes far from our resort, is a very good place for hiking in the woods surrounded by chestnut trees and hundred-year-old oak trees following the small rivers that lead into the Orcia.
